Meet Louise

louise stands against a brick wall

Hi I’m Louise Dorsett,
A Registered Dietitian.

Louise graduated with honors with a specialized baccalaureate in Nutrition from the University of Montreal, (l’Université de Montréal). She has additional training in functional nutrition and mindful eating and spent countless hours reading through the research so you don’t have to!

Having experienced infertility herself Louise developed a special interest in the dietary therapy for endometriosis, PCOS and infertility but she also specializes in IBS, digestive issues (i.e. improving gut health). She feels passionate about helping busy clients fuel and nourish their bodies with optimal nutrition.

Louise is a specialist in personalized medical nutrition therapy. Her experience has included everything from enteral nutrition, to the prevention and management of health conditions such as diabetes (in children and adults), IBS, cancer and dementia. She has worked in a variety of settings (community health centres, home care and hospitals), and with clients of all ages, providing nutrition education to pregnant women; parents of infants, toddlers and adolescents (with feeding / eating disorders) as well as nutrition support for seniors.

My Philosophy?

I believe that all foods fit into a healthy lifestyle

On a Personal Note…

Fun facts about me

My husband convinced me, on 3 occasions, to pack up the family and move around Ontario with our young kids. He also introduced me to Indian and Thai cuisine which I really love.

Raising two busy boys meant that I had to keep up with basketball and volleyball practices, piano lessons, PTA meetings which was getting harder and harder to do! If life wasn’t busy enough….My younger son had many food aversions during his pre-schooler years, and his very own “ideas” about what to have for dinner!
I had to put my creativity to work and tried new recipes to “feed” our busy family!

Sports? I’ve never been that adventurous but I decided to learn how to scuba dive (which I never imagined starting in my late 30s)! Life is not as busy anymore. For the day to day, I enjoy reading a book, doing yoga, hiking or taking my dogs Sidney and Milo for a walk, or for a gentle run when I have the motivation to lace up my shoes (yes, dietitians struggle with this too).
